THIS IS A PIPE
Regular price Min. Bid $350.00 CAD/
Shortly after the announcement of this show, Wonder visited a rare and odd bookstore called The Monkey’s Paw. There he discovered a book published in 1942 that documented thousands of pipes throughout history, The Pipe Book. Immediately, he had the idea of making a huge “functional” hash pipe made from the pages of the book about pipes. He’s arts-and-craftsy but has no experience in sculpture and wanted to challenge himself. It is named in homage to an infamous painting by Belgian surrealist painter René Magritte, The Treachery of Images. Also known as ’Ceci n’est pas une pipe,” translated into “This is not a pipe.”
